Disney’s Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge
Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Disney’s Boulder Ridge Villas is a 180‑unit resort building set on a two‑acre wetland site beside the iconic Wilderness Lodge. Designed for Disney Vacation Club members, it offers a unique ownership experience while sharing many of the Lodge’s amenities and its scenic views of Bay Lake.
To blend naturally with the Wilderness Lodge’s National Park–inspired style, the Villas take cues from the western railroad hotels developed by Fred Harvey in the late 1800s. The clapboard and shingle siding, along with the timber framing, echo the simple, rustic architecture of those early hotels, giving the impression that the Villas predate the Lodge itself.
At the heart of the building is a four‑story, octagonal lobby atrium built from hand‑hewn logs and diagonal log trusses. On the second level, guests can enjoy an overlook decorated with carved wooden animals and colorful stencils inspired by the Native American Medicine Wheel, adding a rich layer of symbolism and visual charm.
