Crestmoor Colonial House Renovation

Denver, Colorado

Following in the traditions of colonial design, the client and I chose to preserve the original two-story 1938 brick colonial home while gutting the interior and extending onto the back and sides of the structure in an 'additive' approach.   This method was sustainable and preserved the street elevation beloved by neighbors.

A variety of architectural enhancements and modifications were made to the existing structure to elevate the colonial design - including changing the roof pitch, replacing the old windows and adding a new front entrance portico.  A palette of exterior wood components, including trim moldings, cornices, columns, rafters, and pergolas were introduced for refinement, scale and to soften the white brick walls.
